Starting with Gratitude
Posted On 04/09/2009 12:59:07

Starting With Gratitude

In creating abundance and changing world consciousness, all of us ought to start the day with a prayer of thanks.

Here's out I start my day with thanks:  I am very grateful and thankful for the unlimited abundance of love, wealth and perfect health I am always receiving.

I have also learned to become an Inversed paranoid.  I know the universe is always conspiring to give me positive things at every turn.  And always notice the peace in your life and in all things around you.

Remember your subconscious mind does not argue with you.  It accepts what your conscious mind decrees.  Go forth and change the world one thought at a time.

Thought become things so choose the good ones.

Your Ideas Lead .....Gold
Posted On 04/05/2009 11:12:37

I suffer from the “great idea” syndrome. In other words, I'm always thinking of what I think are good ideas. Then I (often) fruitlessly try to get other people to go along with them. What I've had to learn over the years is this: 1) not everyone will see the value in what I offer, 2) if I feel strongly about my idea, then I'm probably going to have to make headway on it myself and quit waiting for other people to help me, and 3) if it genuinely is a great idea, then my Flow will likewise scoop me up and help smooth the way for its implementation.

Let's start with #1. For many years, I've been in a position where I've offered some excellent business ideas to someone. These are ideas that will really make her business take off—and likewise I've told her where she's made some pretty obvious business blunders. The problem is, my friend never actually asks for my opinion, and this is hard for me, since I think I have such good opinions to give (sound like anyone you know?), and I know her industry well. However, lately I've finally had to face the idea that to her, my ideas are always lead—not gold. This hurts me. It hurts that she doesn't think I can offer her anything of value. It hurts my self-esteem, since somewhere along the way I realize that I've tied some of my self-esteem to what she thinks of me. This is because I care about her, and want her to think well of me.

This has probably happened to you, too, somewhere in your life. Someone you care about (it could be your mom, brother, friend, or even your boss) doesn't value your opinion, and since you judge your own value based on what they think of you, you always lose out. What can you do about this? What can I do about this?

This brings me to #2. Sometimes our ideas are clunkers, but often they aren't. They may just need a little tweaking to get them right. Or they may need a lot of effort or resources. But if you have an idea and you have the passion to fulfill it, then who, really, is to stop you? You might say that you need help. You need the authority. You need funding. You need emotional support. Your list can get very long of all the things you think you need. You can look at any one of the big obstacles in your life right now and create a nice list of all the things you need to fix it as well as all the ideas you had to fix it that were tossed out. The bottom line is, sometimes you just have to pick something a go for it, and stop thinking that anyone else has to think it's a good idea too. True, you could be wrong. The idea could be lead. But your only other option is often paralysis—you don't go for what you think is right because you aren't supported or are told you can't and on and on.

So where does #3 fit in? That's the concept that some things will flow for you, while others won't. Golden ideas flow. The energy of life is behind them. Clunkers largely sink. Some bad ideas do seem to perpetuate themselves longer than you'd think is possible, but that's always because they have an enabler involved. The enabler might be a big source of funding, a bad boss, a family member, or someone or something invested in them even as their project or job or relationship is crumbling. Bad ideas don't heed the Flow, and if viewed correctly are allowed to wash away so good ideas can take their place. So, what if you have an idea for something (a new career, a new way of handling your relationship, or even new hobby you want to take up), but you can't find support for it? If you were me, I'd go for it anyway. I'd begin to see what happens—do I get resistance or do I get opportunities? And what, you say, if your ideas are blocked? What if my boss or husband or someone who really counts is opposed to it?

If that's the case, then step back a minute. Ask yourself, are my ideas habitually blocked? Is this a large source of frustration in my life? If the answer is yes, then pull back from your latest greatest idea and begin asking the larger question: Why am I allowing so much blockage in my life?

27 ways to go Out of Your Mind
Posted On 04/03/2009 12:16:37

Pause for a moment, close your eyes, and become aware of what's happening in your mind. You'll notice that you are engaged in a perpetual internal dialogue, interpreting and evaluating what has happened, is happening, or might happen to you. The mind has an astonishing capacity to hop from one idea to the next, and most people have an average of 60,000 thoughts each day. About 59,000 of these thoughts, however, are the same ones we had yesterday. We think and do things repeatedly, and then we wonder why it's so difficult to create something new in our lives.

What is the alternative? Become intimate with the silent spaces between your thoughts. Beneath the mind's noisy surface lies the domain of consciousness that gives rise to the judgments in your mind and the molecules in your body. We experience this field of pure awareness when we meditate, see a rainbow, hear an awe-inspiring piece of music, feel ecstatic love, taste a delicious food, or breathe in a beautiful scent. Whenever we have an experience beyond words –whenever we go out of our minds – we touch the unlimited dimension of our being and open ourselves to new and creative possibilities.

27 Ways to Go Out of Your Mind

1.  Invite someone new out to lunch.

2.  Take a break from TV and radio news for at least a week, detaching from the mass consciousness of fear.

3.  Find inspiration. Visit www.darynkagan.com for stories about the good things that are happening in the world.

4.  Make a list of everything you would try if you weren't afraid – and then do one thing on that list.

5. Try Nadi Shodhana or channel clearing breathing.  Learn how here.

6.  Take an improvisational acting class.

7.  Practice chakra tuning.

8.  Explore your sense of touch. Dig your toes into the earth. Luxuriate in a hot shower. Caress your loved ones.

9.  Close your eyes and say to yourself, I wonder what my next thought will be – and notice what happens.

10.  Keep a gratitude journal, writing down everything you're grateful for at the end or beginning of each day.

11.  Wear your watch on the other wrist – or don't wear one at all.

12. Eat a meal in complete silence – notice what happens when you're not distracted by conversations, TV, reading, or other diversions.

13. Listen to a guided meditation on opening to change.

14. Lie on your back and watch the clouds.

15.  Put on your favorite music and dance.

16. Write a letter to yourself in your non-dominant hand.

17.  Follow a bird.

18.  Call a friend you haven't spoken to in years.

19. Tickle somebody.

20. Take a walk a really notice what's around you. Pretend you're an artist and notice the colors and textures you'd include in your painting.

21. Eat something you've never tried before or try combining foods in new ways.

22. Watch old Marx Brothers movies.

23. Plant new flowers in your garden.

24. Read a magazine on a topic you've never explored.

25.  Spend time with children, who are naturally playful and open. Let yourself be  silly and play.

26.  Wear new colors.

27. Change your opinion about something or someone.

Daily Law of Attraction Quote; 04/02/09
Posted On 04/02/2009 16:56:27

The evolution of your time-space-reality is nothing more than people having experience and coming to conclusions of desire that then Source Energy answers. And the evolution, actually the speed of it, has to do not so much with the desires that are being born, although they certainly are a significant part of it, but the speed is more about how quickly do people let go of the old thought and begin addressing the new thought, and it works for you and against you, depending upon what you are giving your attention to.

Seven Steps to Release Emotional Turbulence
Posted On 03/31/2009 09:55:47
Emotional turbulence interferes with emotional well being and initiative. Fear, anger, guilt and anxiety are deviations from natural condition of balance and stand in the way of spiritual evolution. Restoring balance can be evolutionary in itself.

Patients suffering from life threatening illness often report   that their diseases have taught them to love and value the other people in their lives more deeply than before they became ill. During recovery they learn to appreciate and understand areas of life that they took for granted before. Overcoming anxiety can bring the same disguised benefits that dealing with a physical illness can bring. Anger, fear, and worry are not diseases, but we can grow from them even as we process them to become the person we want to be.

By resorting to our inherent intelligence, harmony and creativity, we engage our ability to manifest a positive outcome, but if we are emotionally turbulent, then we are too agitated to access to that field of potentiality. Through meditation we experience our silent self beyond our thoughts and emotions. This is our internal reference point for equilibrium and from where we can create a desired outcome.    To restore balance in our life, meditation must therefore be an essential ingredient. It is also important to support this with balanced activity in the basic areas of diet, exercise and sleep. Assuming these fundamental balancing components are in place, I would offer an additional exercise to specifically address what to do in the face of intense anxiety and fear.

Emotional distress is a form of pain. If we learn how to recognize pain as soon as possible, we can also learn how to effectively metabolize and eliminate pain. If we don't deal with pain when it occurs, we can be certain it will resurface as compounded emotional toxicity later on. The remembrance of pain not processed appears as insomnia, hostility, or anger. If a past hurt has not been metabolized and eliminated there will be anticipation of having that experience again, generating fear and anxiety. As a further complication, if you don't know how to deal with either of these feelings of anger and fear, you are likely to turn them inward at your self, believing “It's all my fault.” That guilt depletes our physical, emotional and spiritual energy until any initiative or movement feels impossible. We feel exhausted and paralyzed leading to depression. Toxic turbulent emotions have one cause—not knowing how to deal with pain. Pain is normal to life, but suffering isn't. When we do not know how to deal with pain, then we suffer.

Learning how to metabolize pain involves these steps:
·         Identify and locate the   emotion physically
·         Witness the experience
·         Take responsibility
·         Express the emotion
·         Release the emotion
·         Share the outcome
·         Celebrate the process

Set aside a few minutes when you won't be disturbed. Sit comfortably and close your eyes. For a few minutes, just meditate in silence. Focus on your breathing or if you prefer you may use a mantra.

Now with eyes still closed recall some circumstance in the recent past that was upsetting to you. It may be a time when you felt you were mistreated, an argument with your partner, or perhaps a past injustice at work. Identify some instance where you felt emotionally upset.

For the next 30 seconds think in detail about that incident. Try to picture what actually happened as vividly as you can, as if you were reporting it for a newspaper. Here you are the observer watching this event. You are not the event, the argument, or the emotional upset; you are merely witnessing what is happening from the perspective of your silent self. You are carrying  the effect of the meditation you just did, allowing you to maintain a vantage point that is not overshadowed by the quality of the emotions.

Now identify exactly what you are feeling. Put some word on the incident that describes what you are experiencing. Be as precise as you can. Do you feel unappreciated? Insulted? Treated unfairly? Give the feeling a name. Come up with a word that epitomizes the painful experience. Focus your attention on that word.
Gradually allow your attention to move away from the word. Let your attention wander into your body. Become aware of the physical sensations that arise in your body as a result of the emotion you've identified. These two elements—an idea in the mind and a physical sensation in the body, are what an emotion truly is, and they can't really be separated.

This is why we call it a feeling. It is because we feel emotions in our bodies. Let your attention pass through your body as you're recalling this experience. Locate the sensations the memory brings up. For many it's a pressure in the chest or a sensation of tightness in the gut. Some feel it as pressure in their throat. Find where it is in your body that you're feeling and holding the emotional experience.

Now expressthat feeling. Place your hand on the part of your body where you sense that the feeling is located. Express audibly, “It hurts here.” If you're aware of more than one location for the pain, move your hand from place to place. At every location, pause for a moment and   express what you're feeling. Say, “It hurts here.” When you experience physical discomfort, it means that something is unbalanced in your experience—physically, mentally, or spiritually. You body knows it—every cell in your body knows it. Befriend these sensations and   their wisdom, because  the pain is actually leading you to wholeness.

Writing your feelings out on paper is a valuable way to express the emotion. This is especially effective when you can write out your painful experience in the first person, in the second person and finally from the perspective of a third person account.

Be aware that any painful feelings you experience are your feelings. These feelings are happening inside your body now as you remember the pain, even though nothing is actually taking place in the material world. You're only remembering what happened, yet your body is reacting with muscle contractions, hormonal secretions, and other responses within you. Even when the painful incident was occurring in the material world, the effect was entirely within you. You have choice  in how you respond and interpret this emotional turbulence. Recognizing this is taking responsibility for your feelings.

This doesn't mean that you feel guilty. Instead, it means that you recognize your ability to respond in new and creative ways. Taking responsibility for your feelings, you can also gain the power to make the pain melt away. You're no longer blaming anyone else for having caused the pin, so you no longer have to depend on anyone else to make it go away. Hold that understanding in your consciousness for the next few moments.

Now you're ready to release the pain. Place your attention on the part of your body where you're holding the pain, and with every exhalation of your breath have an intention of releasing that tension. Over the next 30 seconds, just feel the painful sensation leaving your body with every breath. Some people find that making an audible tone that resonates in that part of your body where the pain is localized helps to loosen and lift the contraction away.  You can also experiment to discover what works best for you.   For others singing or dancing does the trick. You may try deep breathing, using essential oils, or a taking a long warm bath. Finally, if you have written out your emotions on paper, it can be useful to ritually burn the paper and offer the ashes to the winds.

Sharing the outcome of releasing your pain is important because it activates the new pattern of behavior after the old painful pattern is released. Imagine that you could speak to the person who was involved in that original painful incident. What would you say to that person now? Bear in mind that he/she was not the real cause of your pain. The real cause was your response. In your transformed state you are now free. So you can share what happened without blame, manipulation or seeking approval.

Perhaps they intended to cause you pain, and you may have unwittingly collaborated in that intention. Maybe you would like to say you no longer intend to fall into such traps. Whatever you say is totally up to you. As long as you have an awareness of the steps we've taken so far in this exercise, whatever you say will be right for you.

Now you can celebrate the painful experience that had taken place as the valuable material that helped you move to a higher level of consciousness. What was previously a disconnected, destructive  and disabled part of your psyche is now integrated and contributing its power toward your greater spiritual goal.  Instead of responding to the situation with a pain reflex,  perpetuating  the problem, you've turned it into an opportunity  for spiritual transformation. That is something to celebrate.  Go out for a nice dinner or buy yourself some flowers or a present to honor the new you.

Use this exercise whenever you feel upset to free yourself from emotional turbulence and the underlying pain. When you do that, you'll find opportunities will arise more often in every area of your life.

An activated thought means a thought that when I think it, I have a feeling response. If you're not having a feeling response to something, a feeling that feels good or a feeling that feels bad -- the thought is not that powerful, and it is probably not a big player in your vibrational mix.

There is no right or wrong way to tell your improved story. It can be about your past, present, or future experiences. The only criterion that is important is that you be conscious of your intent to tell a better-feeling, improved version of your story. Telling many good-feeling short stories throughout your day will change your point of attraction. Just remember that the story you tell is the basis of your life. So tell it the way you want it to be.

How to Be Happy In a Recession
Posted On 03/28/2009 13:08:14

With the recession barreling toward us, the road noise has become alarmingly loud. But as the economy contracts, we must resist our natural reflex to contract with it. Instead, we need to do the opposite. Expansion is the best way to survive any crisis.

When a box turtle is crossing the road and it hears a car coming, it reacts by drawing in its head and feet, contracting for protection. Evolution has kept turtles alive for hundreds of millions of years that way. What works as a natural defense isn't much use, though, when a Yukon or Explorer is barreling toward you. There are times when contracting inward is the very worst thing you can do.

That's true now in the recession that economists see barreling toward us -- the road noise has gotten alarmingly loud already. But as the economy contracts, we must resist our natural reflex to contract with it. Instead, we need to do the opposite. Expansion is the best way to survive any crisis.

The lesson should have sunk in after 9/11, when the whole country learned what it means to contract with fear, anxiety, suspicion, and distrust. We felt threatened by a vast, unseen enemy, which was magnified as large as fear itself.

Fear deprives people of choice. Fear shrinks the world into isolated, defensive enclaves. Fear spirals out of control. Fear makes everyday life seem clouded over with danger.

A lot of people are approaching the economy that way, and not enough leaders are warning them that it's the worst possible reaction.

To be happy in a recession means, first and foremost, resisting all the threats that fear possesses. Don't obsess anxiously over what you could lose. Don't reduce your world to a bank account or a 401k. Isn't there an upside to losing some "consumer buying power"? To be honest, we went too far with consumerist mania. By any measure this is an inordinately rich country, and instead of mourning sagging profit margins, can't we use the current slowdown to ask what makes for true personal happiness?

Deepak Chopra: 7 Laws of Success

Relationship. Gratitude. Appreciation. Compassion. Mutual regard. Strong social connections. Love you can trust.

I don't know why it takes a crisis to bring out those fundamental human qualities. But it often does. We all realize that the next video game, the next new car, the next flat-screen TV means nothing compared to the rewards of relating to other people. Yet we live as if the opposite is true. The pursuit of happiness is blocked just as much by indulgent over-consumption as by an economic downturn. More, in fact, an impoverished country like Nigeria recently scored number one in a survey of the happiest countries on earth, while the U.S. has never broken the top ten in any such survey.

Some may protest that expanding and becoming more human is all well and good if you have a job but totally unrealistic if your livelihood is threatened. I don't think so. Whatever happens, the worst-off will be the ones who need more compassion, kindness, and relating to. They will need real coping skills, not a show of group pity.

There's a lot more to say about how to be happy in a recession, but the main thing is to remind yourself that it's possible. Refuse to contract just because the economy does. You have the tools to be happy in the worst of times. They're just hidden under the box your new iPhone came in.

Take the worthiness that is yours, and let the "Fairies of the Universe" assist you. Stop taking so much responsibility upon yourself, and live happily ever after. Shorten that crevasse between where you are and where you want to be, on every subject, to now, now, now, now, now. Ride the wave. Just pluck the fruit... You don't have to be the one who puts it in the ground any more. You can just skip across the top of things and pluck the fruit of all of the things you want. "Oh, fruit. Oh, delicious this, delicious this, delicious this, delicious this." In other words, it's all right there for you; it's ready for you to receive it as fast and as soon as you will vibrationally let it in.

The Soul in Love / My Burning Heart
Posted On 03/15/2009 12:59:23

My Burning Heart

My heart is buning with love

All can see this flame

My heart is pulsing with passion

like waves on an ocean

My friends have become strangers

and I'm surrounded by enemies

But i'm free as the wind

no longer hurt by those who reproach me

I'm at home wherever i am

and in the room of lovers

I can see with closed eyes

the beauty that dances

Behind the veils

intoxicated with love

I too dance the rythm

of this moving world

I have lost my senses

in my world of lovers

Posted On 03/15/2009 10:13:33

We would never go to court for any reason, because that is a physical act of exclusion as big as we've ever seen it, and we've never seen anybody ultimately benefit from that.

Daily Law of Attraction Quote---03/14/09
Posted On 03/14/2009 08:29:33

It is of great value for you to give your conscious attention to what you specifically want, otherwise you can be swept up by the influence of that which surrounds you. You are bombarded by the stimulation of thought. And so, unless you are setting forth the thought that is important to you, you can be stimulated by another's thought that may or may not be important to you.

Aroused Passion
Posted On 03/01/2009 10:09:53

Oh God

Give them happy endings

Let their lives be clebrations

Let their hearts dance in the fire of your love

My sweetheart

you have aroused my passion

Your touch has filled me with desire

I am no longer separate from you

These are precious moments

I beseech you

Don't let me wait

Let me merge with you

More from A Spring Time in Love
Posted On 02/22/2009 06:22:43

Who would sell me one beautiful thought

for a hundred pounds of gold?  Who

would exdhange one minute of love

for a handful of gems?

Who would give me one eye

that can see beauty.

in exchange for all my treasures?

Life without love is like a tree barren of

blossom and fruit.  And Love without beauty is

Like flowers without scent and fruits

without seeds.....life, love, and beauty

are one independent and absolute trinity.

which cannot be separated or changed.

Spring Time in Love
Posted On 02/19/2009 05:35:42

True beauty is a ray

That Springs from the sacred depths of the soul

and illuminates the body, just as life

springs from the kernel of a stone and

gives colour and scent to a flower.

The Soul in Love / I Didn't Know
Posted On 02/15/2009 10:03:48

When the lotus opened, I didn't notice and went away

empty handed.

Only now and again do i suddenly sit up from my dreams

to smell a strage fragrance.  It comes on the south wind,

a vague hint that makes me ache with longing, lkie

the eager breath of summer wanting to be complete

I didn't know what was so near, or that it was mine.

This perfect sweetness blossoming in the depths of my heart.

Rain

I feel like the earth

Astonished at fragrance

Borne in the air,

Made pregnant with mystery

From a Drop of Rain.
